Joe Sinnott, Witting Partners, joins The Crude Life for a podcast series within a podcast titled “Sustainable Leadership Series: Why Narcissists Get Promoted Before You”.
The interview references an article published by the BBC titled “How narcissists climb the career ladder quickly” as a way to navigate and insert into the conversation.
Sinnott cites several positive attributes a narcissist can have as well as the obvious negative ones. Focusing on ways to create awareness regarding the negative and honing the positive behaviors.
In addition to behaviors, the impacts in the workplace is also discussed. Often times a narcissist is the one who pushes people and companies to new heights. This becomes a slippery slope and difficult to identify in the Wall Street “greed is good” world.
The emotional and mental abuse a narcissists often possesses is discussed in detail during the interview. In the world of mental health awareness and trigger litigation, understanding emotional and mental exchanges can be extremely impactful on your bottom line. Not to mention the whole humanitarian aspect.
Why companies need to understand the need for Executive Awareness right now is also discussed. From the ESG to COVID to working from home, there is a new workplace and companies need to understand so they can be ready for 2022.
This is the second installment of the series, the first was on “Crab Bucket Cultures” in the workplace. The next installment is titled “The Velvet Glove”.
