HOUR ONE PLAY HARD: Jason Spiess and Sterling catch up in their last “Time Masheene” edition on The Crude Life Morning Show Play Hard Work Hard.
The show goes off the rail real early when Geraldine Ferraro’s name is mentioned and the two discuss why her Vice Presidential nomination wasn’t given more notoriety in the annals of female empowerment or why current leadership doesn’t refer to her monumental milestone.
The Friday conversation goes even further off the rail when they revisit more reasons why “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson will be the next president of the United States.
The Play Hard Segment also lists “movie plots people explained so badly it was good”. Couple examples include:
- Group spends nine hours returning jewelry – Lord of the Rings
- Stockholm syndrome works – Beauty and the Beast
Jason explains why he is so passionate about Pre-K Education and gave several examples from teaching his son sign language at three months old to why he chose Montessori for his elementary school. Sterling responds with reasons why he and his wife chose to send their daughters to Montessori.
In HOUR TWO we WORK HARD with our Newsmaker Interview: Jackie Jenkin and Tiffany Steiner, Co-Founder of the Bakken BBQ
The Bakken BBQ is fastly approaching and some Bakken residents will get Oinked in May. As a part of an awareness campaign, the Bakken BBQ will be placing Pink Pigs in the front lawns of home owners and businesses.
“You can oink a friend, family member, co-worker, neighbor or anyone else you feel like messing with. It will cost a small fee to have our pink oinkers placed in your yard of choice. These pigs will sun themselves for two days and then will mysteriously waddle to another yard,” Steiner and Jenkins said. “This oinking is done in good spirits and is not meant to be mean.”
Last year, practicing safe and healthy guidelines, The 8th annual Bakken BBQ was able to raise $100,000 for Make-A-Wish North Dakota, $3,000 to the Dickinson BackPack Program, $1,000 to Women Empowering Women for elderly women and $1,000 to a local family!
Spiess, who is also the emcee of the Bakken BBQ, mentions how The Crude Life is participating this year in another awareness campaign at the BBQ. He explains why there is ESG symbolism in the smoked potatoes at the Bakken BBQ.
As a cancer survivor, Spiess has modified his diet, which includes much less meat than an average American.
“Potatoes are a great symbol of diversity because they can be baked,
stuffed, mashed or even smoked. Potatoes are versatile, delicious, and
nutritious,” Spiess said. “The potato is an great vegetarian option to
put your BBQ on.”
The potatoes that will be used for the BBQ were grown on a farm outside of Dawson, ND, and will be cooked in a recycled and repurposed piece of the Dakota Access Pipeline.
The Crude Life will also be working as an Environmental Energy Ambassador during the Bakken BBQ with The Bakken Bridge, an East/West energy awareness program for North Dakota. High school students from the Fargo Moorhead area will be attending the Bakken BBQ, handing out potatoes as well as learning first hand about the oil and gas industry and environmental energy.
“We are very excited to add the potatoes to this year’s event,” Jenkin and Steiner said. “Every year we try to add new ideas and experiences to include as many people as possible. We are very excited about The Crude Life’s smoked potatoes.”
In addition to The Crude Life’s Smoked Potatoes, The Bakken BBQ’s Get Oinked Campaign and the regular offerings like bouncy castles, face painting and a live auction; The Bakken BBQ will honor and celebrate First Responders as part of the event.
A first responder is a person with specialized training who is among
the first to arrive and provide assistance at the scene of an emergency,
such as an accident, natural disaster, or terrorism. First responders
typically include law enforcement officers, paramedics, EMT’s and
firefighters.
The Bakken BBQ will be honoring their service all night on stage and at the event.
The 9th Annual Bakken BBQ is Friday June 18 at the West River Ice Center in Dickinson, ND. For more information email bakkenbbq@hotmail.com or studio@thecrudelife.com
