In HOUR TWO we WORK HARD with our Newsmaker Interview: Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge
Attorney General Leslie Rutledge came flying hot right out of the gate sharing thoughts that so many across the nation have had since January 20th. After President Biden went on a signing spree of Executive Orders, there are many brows raised and breaths baited waiting to see where this country is going. The executive order killing the Keystone Pipeline, which was signed within Biden’s first hour in office, has already done quite a bit of damage by itself. That’s why 13 Attorney Generals have decided to band together and push back against the cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline.
“The cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline took away American jobs, it can take away energy independence for America, and it takes away money from American’s pocketbooks because it will cost more.” – AG Leslie Rutledge
The toll is already beginning to show it’s face as the number of unemployment rises along with the cost of fuel at the tanks. The recent winter storm that swept the nation last week may have outlined a few more issues stemming from the hit to America’s oil and gas industry. Although, thankfully Arkansas was left with far less blackouts than was had in Texas.
“If we were only relying on wind and solar, we would be in a much more detrimental position than what we were and we would have seen much more devastation because we still would be without power because, again, those wind turbines would still be frozen and the snow would still be sitting on the solar panels.” – AG Leslie Rutledge
The nation’s energy independence and stability is not the only fight on the Attorney General’s plate, though. The idea is to keep both eyes open for all federal overreach. Most recently, AG Rutledge has introduced The Girls Act; legislation that stands for gender integrity reinforcement.
“It’s unbelievable that at this time we are having to put forth such legislation and put it into law and that’s why I think moreso than ever that we cannot let political correctness override good common sense.” – AG Leslie Rutledge
Should anyone wish to join the fight against the cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline, be sure to reach out to the Arkansas Attorney General’s office. The one-on-one examples are used in court cases and testimony. Otherwise, just remember to have hope and stand strong; there are still people looking out for the working men and women.
“So please don’t sit back and think that nobody’s fighting for you – we are fighting for you at the Arkansas Attorney General’s office.” – AG Leslie Rutledge
