HOUR ONE PLAY HARD: Jason Spiess is joined by Joe Sinnott, Witting Partners, for the Play Hard segment of the show. Sterling is in Kansas City with his AramcoBrat friends, so Joe is our guest co-host for the day.
The two start off talking about how the Crew Shift is about over. Jason pontificates that 95% at least is complete and many of the leaders you see in place right now are the ones companies have put in place.
Jason wonders if some of the leaders will not only create a quicker defection away from the industry while setting up their company for future issues. Joe explains how sustainable leadership is critical right now and intentionality may be the most important element in oil and gas right now.
Chauvinism, Silos and Country Club Economics is also discussed in the unsustainable leadership styles.
The two take the flip side and discuss some leadership styles that are connecting with people. Inclusion, identifying awareness and basic human decency are reoccurring themes.
Ashley McNamee, Director, ESG Services at Alvarez & Marsal, gives an overview of what ESG is and why oil and gas companies are starting to integrate into their business plans, share holder reports and general practices.
McNamee, who is a former television news anchor and oil and gas executive, brings a unique perspective to the ESG industry. Her media background creates a 5000-foot perspective very few in oil and gas possess due to pedigree.
In addition her work for Whiting Petroleum opened her eyes to the realities of environmental innovations oil and industrial integrity.
These experiences have paved a new path of McNamee in ESG audits, framework creation and environmental investment navigation.
McNamee also talk about Women’s History Month and how the oil and gas industry has made incredible changes over the past decade.
