HOUR ONE PLAY HARD: Jason Spiess is joined by Sterling back in The Industrial Studios as they gear up for Bakken BBQ Week.

The two catch up a little more on a Wednesday night for the Tuesday morning podcast which will be released on Thursday morning. Welcome to another “Time Masheene” edition of the Play Hard Work Hard Morning Show.

On Friday June 18, oilfield worker and singer-songwriter Alma Cook will perform her hit song “5000 Candles” on stage at the 9th Annual Bakken BBQ. This original song was written to create awareness about flaring and emission management.

As an Environmental Energy Ambassador, Alma will kick off the night with singing America The Beautiful accompanied by First Responders on stage.

The Crude Life Community is beyond excited to be involved in The 9th Annual Bakken BBQ which raises money children, women and community empowerment.

In addition to Cooking For A Cause for Make-A-Wish America and several local charities, The Bakken BBQ will honor and celebrate First Responders on stage as part of the event this year.

The Crude Life is pleased to announce that Teen Miss North Dakota 2020 Alexzandria Garcia will be a special guest Environmental Energy Ambassador at The Bakken BBQ! Alexzandria just handed off her prestigious crown as Teen Miss ND at the end of May, but she continues to be an ambassador to causes important to her.

Alexzandria will be a sophomore in high school this fall. She’s in the City of Watford City Ambassador Program and is also part of the Little Buddy program where high school students have lunch one-on-one with elementary students who need a little support.

Genneca Houser will be recording an episode of The Real Oilfield Women of the Bakken with Tiffany Steiner, Jackie Jenkin and Hope Sticka about balancing life, work, and major event planning.

Jason Spiess is the BBQ Emcee and ESG Ambassador, plus The Crude Life will be Cooking For A Cause in the Bakken BBQ competition.

Exxon’s new board members are in the news and Jason points out how the Big Three and Occidental have green momentum and women driving the ship.

The two discuss how women are leading the Green Movement from the Energy Secretary, EPA Director, Occidental’s CEO, AOC, Greta and new board members of energy companies.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is signing papers and taking action. From building a wall to standing up for oil and gas, Jason wonders if someone snuck some bourbon in his coffee cause he’s making waves!

In HOUR TWO we WORK HARD with our Newsmaker Interview:  Krista Escamilla, host of Basin Life, The Permian Perspectives Podcast, co-owner of Rig ID Workwear and Permian FR Clothing Company

Krista Escamilla joins Jason in the Permian Basin Association of Pipeliners impromptu mobile studios at the Shale Energy Resources Conference and Trade Show held at the Midland County Horseshoe Pavilion, Midland, TX.

The two discuss the arts, education and how industry has made attempts to connect with communities impacted by oil and gas activities.

The conversation veered into how industry can take that awareness to the next level.

Jason asks Krista is she is familiar with ESG and how that is impacting her day-to-day work activities and content.

She dives into the background of Rig ID and how a solution to a problem became much more.

Krista is the Owner of Rig-ID Workwear and Host of the Permian Perspective Podcast with OGGN. Krista and her husband Al’s goal is to keep the oil and gas industry safe with their products. As an Associated Press Award-winning journalist for CBS7 News, Krista woke West Texans up each weekday morning for ten years with the latest news and weather to start their day off with a smile.

in 2010, Krista was recognized for fair and balanced reporting by the Midland Independent School District and honored by the state of Texas as a member of the Media Honor Roll. She serves the community as an emcee for many non-profit groups, hosts live town hall specials for Basin PBS and is a public speaker who loves to help others achieve their dreams.

Krista grew up in the entertainment world as a singer and dancer. Competing in the Miss America Scholarship program, Krista paid for her own college through money awarded as Miss San Francisco and Miss Napa County.
