Justin Kringstad. North Dakota Pipeline Authority, gives an update from the Bakken’s pipeline sector. Kringstad talks about the current state of production and what type of indicators midstream companies may want to pay attention to.
Kringstad recaps the summer issues and production flows with the Keystone Pipeline, Keystone XL Pipeline and the Tesoro High Plains. The High Plains Pipeline, delivers 74,000 barrel-a-day oil to Marathon Petroleum’s Mandan refinery.
He summarizes the U.S. Interior Department’s Bureau of Indian Affairs orders to shut it down after determining the pipeline was trespassing on Native American land. The ruling also found the company responsible for $187 million in damages and gave it 30 days to appeal.
The interview also dives into natural gas pipeline network and the remote gas capturing industry. Kringstad shares his views on the future of natural gas in the Bakken and why there may be some hurdles before the next chapter is complete.
The emerging market of carbon pipelines and the state-funded Project Tundra are also discussed by Kringstad.
