Interview: William Prentice, CEO, Meridian Energy Group
Prentice gives an update on the Davis Refinery, coming to Belfield, ND. The Davis Refinery will be the first greenfield refinery in the U.S. in the past 50 years.
Prentice explains why the refinery is being billed as “the cleanest refinery on the planet” and explains the latest on the facility’s water permit.
Prentice has 37 years of experience in energy project development, finance, design-construction and operations, and in new venture formation in the energy and technology industries.
He is a Board Member of Meridian Properties Corporation with whom the Company has a joint venture real estate development. Previously, Mr. Prentice served as head of the energy and natural resources practice at Askew, Kabala & Co., a boutique investment banking firm. In 1996, Mr. Prentice founded Competisys and served as its CEO until 2010.
Under his direction Competisys became a leading innovator in integrated energy and telecommunication services to planned communities. In 1990, Mr. Prentice was appointed CEO of Mesquite Lake, an owner/operator of biomass fueled power facilities where he engineered a successful turn around of the firm by stabilizing operations and cash flow, resolving technical problems, and reorganizing corporate finances, allowing the company to achieve its goals. Mr Prentice founded Western Power Group, Inc. in 1983 and developed non-utility energy facilities in California. Initial investors received returns of 7:1 in 3 years.
From 1979 to 1983, William C. Prentice served as Operations Manager of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction division of Ultrasystems, Inc., overseeing the development of numerous energy plant related projects. Prentice was employed by Fluor Corporation as an engineer from 1975 to 1979. and holds a Master’s Degree from UC Irvine, Graduate School of Management, and two B.S. Degrees in engineering from Arizona State University.
