Matt Kruse, AE Parters, gives an update on the job market in the oil and gas industry. Kruse said there are not many places hiring right now, but conversations are still being had about the types of jobs that are being created and changed.
Kruse comments on the recent stories about employees having their salaries slashed and recent layoffs. The interview also discusses whether the $100K salaries will return and whether the workers will return without the $100K salaries.
Kruse talks about the renewable energy push and artificial intelligence integration into the oil and gas industry. Trades, certifications and training are also areas of increase demand for industry.
Kruse said most of the industry is currently maintaining relationships and trying to grow their networks for when industry bounces back.
