Warren Martin, Kansas Strong, gives an update from the state of Kansas and how their oil and gas activity is. Martin says it used to be more prolific, however, still has enough activity to give independents a chance to operate.
Martin explains why the educational component of energy development is critical in today’s society. Furthermore, oil and gas’ ability and/or inability to connect is also discussed in the interview.
According to Martin, Kansas is an oil play that is very inviting for smaller operators and independents. He said “the big boys stay out of Kansas”.
Despite the negative national news, 15 of the top 25 operators in Kansas produced more than expected in 2019. Others are holding their own and showing signs of positivity coming back this year.
Martin also talks about the natural gas plays in Kansas, abandoned wells, shut-ins and talk of stake to oil.
Kansas Strong is a nonprofit organization voluntarily funded by oil and natural gas producers in Kansas and has been in operation since 2006.
