Joseph “JB” Bendik, Navitas Organization, responds to his recent social media activity regarding oil field companies “rehiring workers”, only to be at a reduced salary. Bendik said his post has gone somewhat viral for a LinkedIn post.
He added that this social media post has opened the doors for others to voice their opinions within the industry. Plus more internal industry issues are being discussed everyday on social media.
Host Jason Spiess asked if the reduced salaries is a sign that the integration of Artificial Intelligence is here and a push for off-shore rigs, which would be out of sight for many climate activists
“On the off-shore side there has definitely been a lot more chatter in moving that way. The main push back I have heard is the amount of capital it takes to do those projects off-shore,” Bendik said.
Bendik continued discussing the pros and cons of off-shore drilling, transitioning into the artificial intelligent and safety aspects.
“I couldn’t agree more with your thoughts on automation and safety because there has been so many hot spots as far as high risk, or hot zones is what I am trying to say, because there are hot zones that people have to put there body into and have to have a hot work permit in order to go into those areas,” Bendik said.
The interview also discussed how industry and employee loyalty will be questioned as $1000 golf outing per diems disappear and more climate activism shaming appears.
