HOUR ONE PLAY HARD:  Jason Spiess and Sterling talk about the American Petroleum Institute (API) Endorsement of a Carbon Pricing. The two talk about how this will impact the industry from a financial point of view, a public relations and how the current oil and gas leadership are performing actions that are led by Climate Envoy John Kerry and President Joe Biden.

This past year many leaders have been ghosting, ignoring and being inaccessible to those being directly impacted.

Jason opines that the truth is hard decisions often get more complicated when they’re deferred or ignored by leaders. He also points out many appointed leaders are making six and seven figure salaries to lead members through difficult times, not ignore, ghost and remain silent.

Sterling, who grew up on an oil and gas base in Saudi Arabia, says that’s one of the things he’s noticed is that The Crude Life is a voice for the people who work, live and use energy everyday, not just one polarizing point of view. Anyone and everyone can have a voice if they respect energy.

Jason says a big “thank you” to US Senator Kevin Cramer for always being accessible and a leader.

Senator Cramer sent The Crude Life Morning Show Play Hard Work Hard this statement on Carbon Pricing and Carbon Taxes:

“A carbon tax will raise the price of everything we buy, everything we grow, everything we manufacture, everything we produce, everything we sell. It’s in the value chain of everything we do all day long as a capitalist system. It would have a disproportionately negative impact on lower-income people. … Whether you make $50,000 a year or $500,000 a year, the price of gasoline is the same.”

“All 50 states are involved in the value chain of oil and gas production, and that’s without even talking about the importance of coal and the cost of reliable, resilient electricity. [Enacting a carbon tax is] liberals finding more ways to get more money to pay for more things the country probably doesn’t need. … It’s an upside-down, wrong-headed approach.”

Jason asks for advice on what to do regarding his neighbor after her dog attacked FracleBerry Hound.

Sterling, who hasn’t watched one second of March Madness, makes predictions of who will win this weekend’s games.

HB 1452, HB 1412, HB 1380, SB 2291, HB 1458 are the bills discussed in the interview.

The two also pontificate if, and even predict, the state of North Dakota will purchase or start a state-run power plant. The Bank of North Dakota and State Of North Dakota Flour Mill are two examples given as templates and models.
