Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon is one of the busiest governor’s in the nation. Not only is his state building on of the largest wind farms in the nation, but also ramping up other areas of energy like solar, gas, coal hydrogen and even uranium.
“We have the solution to our energy crisis right here,” Governor Gordon said. “We need to open our lands and drill more. We need to be able to produce more energy. Wyoming is an all the above state and I think America is waking up to the fact that we have a lot of energy right here. Why should we be buying it from our enemies.”
The interview also dove into gas prices, inflation and the repealing of the gas tax.
“Our roads have been a big issue with electric vehicles,” Gordon said. “There’s no way to get these roads paved and we need to make sure we keep those paved and keep the road infrastructure in place.”
Governor Gordon also challenged President Joe Biden’s repealing of the gas tax by stating there are some taxes to keep low rather than repeal, and the gas tax is one of those taxes.
“It makes a lot of noise to say we are going to reduce taxes but I think we should always look at what we can do to keep this tax low,” Gordon said. “But we pay these taxes on the roads for a reason. And that is to make sure our road infrastructure and bridges are up to speed.”
The interview also comments on the federal encroachment into oil and gas development as well as how Wyoming is poised to take the next big step.
The interview was conducted from the Triple Tower of Power constructed by WIC for The Crude Life’s 3rd Annual Podcast Party at the 22nd Annual Energy Exposition in Gillette, Wyoming.
