Jake Milne, Chief Operating Officer, WIC, talks about Wyoming energy and their adaption to the market. Milne explains how their past couple of years have been adapting to the market after COVID.
“We just started recycling wind turbines now,” Milne said. “In fact our first order is being picked up right now today.”
The conversation drove to gas prices very quickly. Milne shares an Associated Press article on President Joe Biden’s executive order to halt the gas tax.
“It’s kinda ass backwards like everything else he does,” Milne said. “He gets the huge Infrastructure Bill out, inflation is someone else’s problem, it’s the oil companies screwing you not us, not inflation and now we are do worried about it we are going to take this little bit of tax money out of your fuel and that makes it all right?”
Host Jason Spiess wondered if the angst from Americans has layers.
“I think the 25-50 cents off a gallon of diesel is borderline insulting,” Spiess said. “When you are budgeting for $3-a-gallon and it’s $5-$7 bucks, it’s more insulting than a kind gesture.”
Milne agreed with Spiess, who runs “about 20 diesel vehicles”, that the gas prices are out of control and hurting small business more and more everyday.
“You fill up your tank and it’s $120 at least,” Milne said. “And the way we work out here in Wyoming, we fill up once a day. Everyday.”
