It’s time once again for our Annual Year In Review interviews! Last February 2020, Joseph “JB” Bendik, The Navitas Organization, shares his thoughts on some of the themes coming off NAPE 2020, like the disconnection with the youth, the Shale New Deal and the frac debate.
Bendik discusses his views on the political landscape in energy, what an ESG Plan is and why the nation needs to adopt a National Energy Policy.
“… it will be back to the same situation we have we’ve been in the last you know five-to-ten-years it’s frac with a ‘C’ or with a ‘K’ and then next thing it’s gonna be okay what’s the ‘E’ in ESG what’s the ‘S’ and what’s the ‘G’. And we’re gonna be down that rabbit hole again.
We’re all like ‘okay, well that’s not sustainable, well yes it is’. ‘And that’s not good governance, yes it is’. ‘You know fracs is spelled with a ‘C’, no it’s spelled with a ‘K’ and that type of back and forth again. So I hope that this is conversation, and I’ve tried driving some of this conversation through social channels, I’ve tried to bring awareness to to ESG before even became popular. You know I’ve been pushing ESG the last two years out of being a good steward of resources, which would lead to a good steward of capital, which would lead to good stewards of investors, and the trickle-down effect of it…”
