The Crude Life has launched a new line of merchandise “Everyday Energy” in partnership with the Earth Protection Alliance.
The Crude Life is reinventing and reimagining energy in 2020 with on-location live events, new programming and fresh language.
“The oil and gas industry needs to reinvent energy in 2020,” The Crude Life founder Jason Spiess said. “Fresh ways to engage with the youth and innovative interaction with community while respecting how and why we have energy everyday.”
Despite powering the majority of the planet, fossil fuels have been increasingly under fire by virtual everyone these days from activists to politicians to casual observers. Spiess added that renewables are receiving “all the media hype and Hollywood sex appeal”, but the realities of green energy are actually far from ideals and platitudes.
“The cold hard truth is that humans have been decarbonizing the planet for over 150 years while recycling and environmental causes have virtually imploded,” Spiess said. “Everyday Energy needs to be fun, campy, cool and sexy. The Crude Life’s Everyday Energy shirts start with the fun. After that we can worry about being all sexy and cool.”
Cross promotion and media integration is the next phase in Spiess’ plan.
“Next we have to incorporate “Everyday Energy” into our programming to remind people there is an energy source powering our lives,” Spiess said. “Everyday Energy is fresh and fun, whereas Fossil Fuels and Oil and Gas carry a completely different tone.”
Spiess said there will be more co-branded merchandise available in the near future.
“A dinosaur playing video games is a great way to show the youth that Everyday Energy powers their lifestyle and is a fantastic daily reminder,” Spiess said. “Energy is more than an industry, it’s a way of life.”
