Meridian Energy Group, Inc., the leading developer of innovative and environmentally-compliant oil refining facilities, signed a Letter of Intent (“LOI”) today with Target Lodging (“Target”) of The Woodlands, Texas to provide the workforce housing for the Davis Refinery project coming to Belfield, North Dakota. This LOI establishes the terms and conditions under which Meridian will be contracting for workforce housing needs at Target’s Dunn County Lodge in support of the workforce that will be constructing and then operating the initial phase of the Davis Refinery in Belfield, ND.
Target Lodging, the largest provider in the US of turnkey housing solutions, provides workers with the best in nutrition, sleeping accommodations and amenities in any climate or location. Meridian believes that the North Dakota Department of Health will be awarding Meridian with its Permit to Construct for the Davis Refinery in the very near future, and so the Company is continuing to take preparatory steps to enable the Davis project to move efficiently into construction and then operation. In signing this LOI, Meridian has made a critical advancement in the Davis project, recognizing how essential the comfort and welfare of its workforce will be to its success.
“We’re extremely excited to approach this next step in the process to make the Davis Refinery a reality,” said Lance Medlin, EVP of Projects at Meridian. “Our workforce members, the first of which will be comprised of local talent and US Armed Forces veterans, can and should expect the very best accommodations. While they’ll undoubtedly be accustomed to the North Dakota climate, we realize they’ll miss the comforts of home, so we’re working hard to make up for that.”
Target Lodging’s Jack Marshall, Business Development Manager, is ready to begin the process of housing workers at the Davis Refinery. “Our team is eager to care for their workforce the other 12 hours they aren’t on location. Our lodging accommodations will keep their workers safe, well-rested and well-fed while on the job here in Belfield. Our responsibility is to make workers from everywhere feel at home on the job.”
Brad Archer, President & CEO of Target Lodging, also believes the LOI in place is a great move for all parties involved. “We’re proud to be able to provide Target Lodging’s culture of safety and well-being to Meridian Energy at the Davis Refinery in the near future. Our belief is that when you focus on your customer as a guest instead of a number, you establish a commitment to quality that makes you a trusted partner.”
William Prentice, CEO of Meridian Energy Group is aware of Target Lodging’s proven track record. “Meridian is very proud that it has been able to attract another world-class organization to the Davis Refinery Team. It is impossible to expect the best of those working at the Davis site unless the living conditions are safe and comfortable, and Target has a proven track record of providing those accommodations to its clients. Although most of the permanent operations workforce will be from surrounding areas, many will be from the region that will require local temporary housing until they can relocate to Belfield and surrounding areas even from other parts of North Dakota.”
